Shoot a high school senior portrait? Sure, but my way.

It has been many years since I shot the one wedding, the few corporate portraits, and the handful of magazine portraits i've done over the course of my career.  I have never shot a high school senior portrait, nor had it ever been a goal of mine, or even something I thought was in my skill set.  My work is primarily fine art sold through galleries, and large scale corporate commissions. The other day I was approached by a mother and daughter who saw me work in a gallery and were interested in my style. Always up for a challenge, I said yes.

Olivia is a high school senior heading to fashion design school next fall. I found her to be thoughtful, creative, and game for anything. This was a short, but great collaboration and I enjoyed it immensely.

Yard Work Vol. 1

The moment one gives close attention to anything,
even a blade of grass, it becomes a mysterious, awesome,
indescribably magnificent world in itself.

Interview with photographs in BLACK + WHITE PHOTOGRAPHY magazine

Excited to have been interviewed and my photographs featured in the February 2015 issue of the international magazine, BLACK + WHITE PHOTOGRAPHY! (issue no. 173) Editor, Tracy Hallet interviewed me and curated an assortment of of my work and here is the result in this two page spread. I am interested in what they picked to print and think I come off as relatively intelligent during the interview. #bwphotography #blackandwhitephotography
