I was not able to take many photographs of the Boston Marathon before my family was forced to retreat back into our Back Bay apartment, but looking back on my images, this one sticks out. It was taken just moments before the first explosion.
Later I found out who the runner was.
Thanks to the keen eye of a friend, the runner in this photograph is named Jack Hart. He runs in honor of his brother Greg.

Jack finished the race and made it home safe.
